What is Travel Training?
Travel Training for individuals and groups teach seniors and people with disabilities to travel safely and independently on fixed-route public transit.
Fixed-route service in Wyoming are buses that operate on regular routes.
You will learn travel skills for following a specific route, typically to school, medical appointments, or employment site.
Travel Trainers will work with you to determine how your disability affects your ability to travel and they will help in developing methods to overcome obstacles in travel.

The Training
The trainer will help with the following:
- Planning your trip
- Riding specific routes
- Reading and understanding route maps and schedules
- Getting to and from your bus stop safely
- Recognizing route buses, bus stops, and landmarks
- Paying fares and/or purchasing passes
- Get on and off the bus safely
- Using and requesting help with the lift or ramp to board with a mobility device
- Positioning your mobility device in the bus
- Using the phone and/or Internet to plan your trip
- Crossing the streets safely
- Being aware of strangers
- Learning safety/emergency skills
